Akiyuki Sasaki

Since receiving his master’s degree at the Tokyo Metropolitan University in 2006, Japanese designer Akiyuki Sasaki, with a passion for the Chinese culture, has been traveling frequently between Japan and China to work on product and spatial design for some of the best-known Japanese brands.

In 2010, Akiyuki won the Kids Design Award for his SAUTO furniture line under ACTUS. In 2015, Akiyuki launched IKASAS, his own label of original furniture based on decade-long design practice, whose ethos of “Complexity in Brevity ” imbues contemporary furniture presentations with the Zen and elegance of oriental aesthetics.
